Andreas plays the 1707 "Boni-Hegar" Stradivarius, which has been made available to him by the generous support of Norwegian art collector Christen Sveaas. Andreas Brantelid lives with his wife and two daughters in Nærum near Copenhagen.
Andreas Brantelid studied with Mats Rondin, Torleif Thedéen and Frans Helmerson, and plays the ‘Boni-Hegar’ Stradivarius from 1707, kindly lent to him by the Norwegian art collector Christen Sveaas.
He started playing the cello from a very early age, studying with his father Ingemar. He made his concerto debut at the age of 14 with the Royal Danish Orchestra in Copenhagen playing the Elgar Cello Concerto.
